John Erwin
President
John Erwin is the founder and President
of the National Association of Family Ministries. He previously
lived in Minnesota, where he served at Grace Church for 14 years
as Pastor to Families.
John is the pastor to adults and families at Yorba Linda
Friends Church in Yorba Linda, California.
John is married to Cheryl (26 years!),
and have two children, John Daniel and Katie, who is a freshman
at Biola University. John
loves to play golf, date his wife, and be at home with his “ever-disappearing”
family.
John is a graduate
of Biola University with a B.A. in Christian Education and has a
Master of Divinity degree from Talbot Theological Seminary in
Practical Theology/Diversified.
He currently is an Associate with the National Center for
Fathering. He is a
former consulting associate with Masterplanning Group International
and a senior advisor for the American Bible Society’s “For
Families” initiative.
As a highly
organized and practical conference speaker, John has spoken at over
100 events in 15 states in the past 10 years. His mission as a
speaker is to encourage and equip families to love Jesus more each
day. He specializes in
parenting seminars, family camps, and frequently speaks for MOPS
(Mothers of Preschoolers) groups.
He also conducts a number of couple’s retreats and marriage
seminars each year. He has also encouraged missionaries on various
missions’ trips and conferences in 10 countries. Currently, he is
doing pulpit supply and preaching in churches all over California.
He has recently spoken at Hume Lake Christian Camps, The Billy
Graham Evangelistic Association, Group Publishing’s National
Conference, Hearts at Home, and Biola University. He also consults
with universities, churches and other non-profit organizations in
the areas of leadership, staff development and master planning.
